Future Teaching GoalsEven though I have gained formidable amounts of knowledge from Oakland University and from my internship at Hamilton-Parsons Elementary School, I still have much to learn as a new teacher. One of my future goals is to create a classroom space that provides various types of learning to meet the needs of all students. I plan to do this by building in many different methods for teaching content and providing as many strategies as possible in order to help students learn.
Another one of my future goals is to gain more experience with collaborating with grade level teaching teams. It was awe-inspiring to see how the fourth-grade teachers at Hamilton-Parsons synergized their lesson planning and built a welcoming and trusting team. I want to build a professional relationship similar to this with my future colleagues. Lastly, a final goal I strive to achieve is building a stronger relationship with parents and overall community. I would like to develop a strong communication system where I could reach out to parents and give them regular updates on how their child is doing in my class. I liked how my mentor teacher implemented a 'glow and grow' chart to showcase what a student has been doing well, and what they can improve on in the future. |
